The Las Vegas airport is conveniently located just off the strip and there are direct flights available from most major US cities. A rental car is not required in Vegas unless you want to do one of the many popular day trips such as the Grand Canyon, the Hoover Dam or Lake Mead. Most of the major hotels offer shuttle service and a taxi only takes a few minutes. Once you settle in, walking the strip is the main way to get around. Las Vegas hosts the annual World Series of Poker at the Rio Hotel & Casino.
